Western Ironweed
Western Ironweed, Vernonia baldwinii, is a perennial herb in the Sunflower family. The stems typically grow up to 5 feet tall, and they develop purple flowers in late summer through late fall. The roots/rhizomes and leaves have a history of medicinal uses.
